Today we did something that generally requires a lot of stress and I try not to do it very often. We went to IKEA. We bought a Björkudden hall table and a Poäng ottoman. The ottoman’s purpose is clear; it’s to keep our feet off of the other furniture. You might not have been aware of our need for the hall table, though. Perhaps a visual aid is in order.
Here’s a Before and After picture for y’all.

Oh, and just a small correction, while I was putting the finishing touches on the hall table this afternoon, Sarah went out on a Döner and grocery trip and reported that there is, indeed, a small fest happening today on Haidplatz. Lest ye lose the faith.

The table looks awesome. You are just missing one thing – an Answering Machine!!!
Please don’t take this the wrong way.
Can you really tell me one good reason why an answering machine is better than email?
* I can check my email from anywhere there’s a computer (of pretty much any kind) and an internet connection.
* I can read a lot faster than I can listen.
* I can easily pass along an email where necessary/appropriate – it’s a lot harder to do that with a voicemail or answering machine.
* Sending me/us an email probably costs you effectively nothing, provided you already have internet service on a flat-rate basis. Calling us and leaving a message costs you definitely something per minute.
