Happy Epiphany
This is what it looks like around here lately — the picture’s from three days ago, but this morning, it started snowing again (though with not quite the same intensity). Enjoy the holiday, if it is one for you. I am enjoying not riding my bike to work in this…today. But tomorrow, it’s back to the snowy bike commute for me.
Hypothetically speaking, of course
Anybody been to Iceland and feel like telling us about it? What’s not to miss? What to avoid? Can you get the same thing closer to home (Norway, Sweden, Finland)? Suggestions/recommendations as soon as possible would be much appreciated.
“Reunited and it feels so good…” to have the day off
…with my apologies to Peaches & Herb.
That’s right, folks! The Day of German Unity means we got a day off. I can’t really afford a national holiday these days, given all the hot topics going on at work (some typical for this time of year, some not), but the German people decided I get one anyway. So Sarah and I explored a new (to us) part of the country: die Fränkische Schweiz. Many, many thanks to our pals Jentry & Markus for putting us up, feeding us some hard-to-get American comfort food, and showing us around these parts. They were neat, and would have been even neater if the sun had made just a little effort to be seen.
